Located in the San Pasqual Valley of San Diego, California, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park is one of the area’s largest tourist attractions drawing around 2 million visitors every year. Situated on 1800 acres, the Park houses thousands of wild and endangered animals from several continents of the world.
The Park began with an idea proposed by the San Diego Zoological Society in 1964 with the intent to exhibit animals in an environment replicating their own natural habitats. The Park features an African Tram to allow visitors to see animals like elephants, gorillas, giraffes and many others in a free range environment.
Dining choices at the Park include a wide selection of quality food items served at a variety of stands located throughout the Park area. The Park also offers several restaurants offering fares from All American to International.
Guest services provided are wheelchairs, strollers, ATM locations and more.
Parking charges are $7.00 per vehicle for members and $10.00 per vehicle for non-members.
Hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the spring and fall and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the summer. The Park is open to the public every day of the year including holidays.
Located at 15500 San Pasqual Valley Road in Escondido, California, the Park is within five to ten miles of several quality hotels.
