Old Town San Diego
Old Town contains many historic buildings, cultural centers and public spaces. Visitors can tour the Mission San Diego de Alcala, the oldest mission in California. Heritage Park is a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and architecture. The Whaley House is filled with history while the Sheriff’s Museum showcases the proud history of the San Diego Sheriff’s department. Don’t miss the fascinating Junipero Serra Museum or the Old Adobe Chapel either.
Old Town San Diego State Historic Park offer both history and a great place to relax and unwind. Attractions here include the San Diego Courthouse, the San Diego Union Museum and the historic Light-Freeman House.
Most of the attractions at Old Town San Diego are free, including Old Town San Diego State Historic Park and the Sheriff’s Museum. Parking is available in the area but public transportation is strongly recommended. Old Town is near many hotels such as the Holiday Inn Express – Old Town, the Old Town Inn and La Quinta Old Town.
