Belmont Park San Diego
Belmont Park is one of San Diego’s best known (and most fun) attractions. Boasting a wide array of rides, shops and eateries as well as gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean, Belmont Park is the perfect place to relax, have fun and soak up the famous Southern California sun.
Opened in 1925, Belmont Park quickly became one of San Diego’s most popular and visited attractions. The amusement park is home to the famed Giant Dipper roller coaster, one of the oldest and most celebrated wooden roller coasters in the country. Belmont Park is also home to a Tilt-A-Whirl, the Vertical Plunge drop tower, a carousel and the Octotron unicoaster.
Belmont Park also has many great shops, eateries and outlets as well as a video game arcade and mini-golf course. The park also has direct access to one of Southern California’s best beaches. Belmont Park is the perfect place for swimmers, sunbathers and those who lover water sports.
The park is free of admission. Its hours vary by season but are generally open from 11AM until 8 to 10 at night. Parking is available on site and public transportation is available via the Metropolitan Transit System. Nearby hotels include the Best Western Mission Bay and the Surfer Beach Hotel.
